Stories are written in the small details - the subtle nuances.

And, yes, societies - especially this one - are very complex.

Shout out to the people who will take to social media to literally call another human being stupid for seeing the world differently. I don’t agree with you, but do applaud your egotism - while calling out narcissism.

Irony?

Nuances.

Duality is a real thing.

• Every post I write terrifies me and thrills me.

• My children are exhausting and incredibly magnificent.

• I worry about the regime change and wake with anticipatory excitement to hear what new dribble inevitably comes out of his mouth.

I am an expert at only one thing. And that is my own existence - this story that I’m currently writing (living). Of which I am a reluctant protagonist, on a quest to exorcise demons, overpower the dark lord, follow the prophecy to find true north - all while navigating a magically complex dragon filled society.

Just like stereotypes - tropes work - because there is always way more truth to them than not.

And “complexity” is just another word for duality…on top of duality…woven into more duality, sprinkled with confusion.

Our job is to perfect our nuances, live a story worth telling, maintain flawless manicures, all while navigating the layers and layers of confounding complexities.
